Kapton\u00ae has no melting point.<\/li>\n<li>Kapton\u00ae offers a high degree of chemical resistance; an organic solvent is not yet known.<\/li>\n<li>Kapton\u00ae has a high resistance to radioactive irradiation.<\/li>\n<li>Kapton\u00ae is the only film that is resistant to corona discharges (for type CR).<\/li>\n<li>Kapton\u00ae is UL-approved (file no. E39505).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ability to maintain its excellent chemical, mechanical and electrical properties over a wide temperature range opens up a wide range of design and application possibilities for Kapton\u00ae. Kapton\u00ae polyimide film is particularly suitable for applications that are characterized by high operating temperatures and where other plastic films fail. Kapton\u00ae polyimide film is produced by polycondensation of an aromatic dianhydride and an aromatic diamine. A crystalline structure is formed by chemical reaction and an amorphous film structure by thermal conversion.
