Celle-ci est transform\u00e9e en une nappe de fibres, puis press\u00e9e. \u00c1 cause de sa grande puret\u00e9 chimique, le bois press\u00e9 est notamment utilis\u00e9 comme mat\u00e9riau isolant dans les machines \u00e9lectriques (impr\u00e9gn\u00e9es de r\u00e9sine), les condensateurs (impr\u00e9gn\u00e9s d\u2019huile ou de r\u00e9sine) et surtout dans les transformateurs \u00e0 huile. Les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du mat\u00e9riau permettent un classement dans la classe d\u2019isolation A (105 \u00b0C) et sont fabriqu\u00e9es conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la norme CEI.
