General Information:
Sealant 7510 is a solvent-free, permanently elastic sealing material. It is resistant to heat, cold and other weather influences and therefore guarantees a reliable, durable seal. Important areas of application are the sealing of joints between a wide variety of materials in machine and apparatus construction, refrigeration equipment construction, automotive and wagon construction, sealing of glazing and other construction applications. In electrical engineering, 7510 sealing putty is used in motor construction to seal terminal boxes with moisture protection insulation. Special areas of application are the sealing of cable bushings in cast resin sleeves and the sealing of winding heads, in particular rod windings, which are cast with compounds, e.g. polyurethane compounds, epoxy compounds or silicone rubber compounds.
Properties:
Sealing putty 7510 is a solvent-free, permanently elastic, light gray putty. Its shape, plastic properties and therefore its effectiveness remain unchanged over a temperature range of – 40 °C to + 50 °C. Even on vertical surfaces, it does not tend to flow, even after 12 hours at 180 °C, so that it is suitable for short-term sealing purposes up to this temperature range. Sealant 7510 contains no corrosive or corrosive substances, is self-adhesive and adheres to all clean, dry materials. It is non-flammable, contains no toxic substances, is physiologically harmless and can be shaped by hand.
Application:
The required amount of sealing putty 7510 is pre-formed by hand and pressed onto the sealing surface or into the joint to be sealed. It is advisable to moisten the filler with water to improve its gliding properties. Due to its self-adhesive effect and its particularly good adhesive properties, 7510 sealing putty provides a very good seal on almost all materials, even at low contact pressure. A prerequisite for good adhesion is an oil and grease-free substrate. This is particularly important for molds that are treated with silicone release agents.
