All cores in the standard series are subjected to a check of the total losses in the iron and the empty magnetisation current during induction. B = 17,000 gauss (1.7 Wb/m2) and a frequency of 50 Hz under the following conditions:

– Total losses less than 2.7 W/kg
– No-load magnetic power VA/kg less than:

Sheet thickness 0.10 mm, f = 400 Hz, standard OS-12

All cores of the standard series are subjected to a check of the total losses in the iron and the empty magnetisation current B = 12,000 Gauss (1.2 Wb/m2) and a frequency of 400 Hz under the following conditions:

– Total losses less than 17.6 W/kg
– No-load magnetic power VA/kg less than:

where A = net sectional area of each leg in cm2
W = net weight of the core in kg.
